BP Target Neutral began in 2006 and has grown successfully year-on-year since then.
Our remit includes both consumers and businesses, and we have been involved with some of the world’s largest sporting events and companies. We are proud to be a founding member of ICROA, the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance, and we aim to provide the best carbon management programme to our customers.

Andrea Abrahams, Global Director
Andrea is head of BP Target Neutral, a carbon management programme developing carbon reduction and offsetting programmes for BP and its customers.
As the global director, Andrea is responsible for growing the programme internationally in key countries where BP operates and with BP’s customer facing businesses. She leads the BP Target Neutral team and is accountable for strategy development and implementation, in establishing new partnerships with multi-national organizations, marketing (B2B and B2C) and carbon offsetting operations.
Andrea took on this appointment in September 2010 and has since then led the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics offsetting campaign, a world first that encouraged 0,5 million spectators to individually offset their emissions.
In her previous role with BP, Andrea was the General Manager Strategy & Business Development for BP’s strategic collaborations business, which looks after BP’s largest global customers and partners. As a founding member of this business, Andrea developed and implemented account management models and methodologies, led business development with new and existing partners, shaped organizational design and built sales and marketing capabilities.
Andrea has worked for BP for 25 years primarily in the B2B businesses in Southern Africa, Singapore and the UK. Areas of experience include strategy, business development, marketing, sales, sustainability and advertising & communications.
Life before BP included a journalism degree; working as a TV news journalist in Namibia and in advertising for a leading international advertising company.
South African by birth, Andrea currently lives in the UK with her husband and adult sons.
Rodrigo Bezerra, Marketing Supply Manager
Rodrigo is the marketing supply manager for BP Target Neutral and leads the carbon offset investment of the program; developing and executing the carbon credit supply strategy and capability to grow the program. With over 12 years expertise in climate change mitigation, Rodrigo has been involved in several aspects of the carbon markets, including policy development, carbon strategy and worldwide offset project development.
Prior to joining BP Target Neutral Rodrigo was a founder and director of an independent environmental consultancy company that specialises in climate change mitigation and carbon asset management. During his time there he helped Inter-American Development Bank deliver a USD $40 million technical cooperation aimed at disseminating low carbon agriculture technology in Brazil.
Previously Rodrigo worked at EcoSecurities, one of the largest carbon offset project developers in the world. During a five year period at EcoSecurities he held the position Global Technical Operations Manager, responsible for ensuring technical standards were maintained across the company’s carbon offsetting projects portfolio. His experience was gained by working on over 85 offset projects in South America, Africa and China, including the development of six new baselines and monitoring CDM methodologies for the energy, waste management, transport, iron and steel sectors.
Rodrigo is a Civil Engineer with a Masters degree in energy and environmental management. He was formerly a member of the UNFCCC CDM Methodology Roster of Experts.
Mike Capper, Business Development (UK & ROW)
Mike has worked in the energy industry for over 15 years, working for some of Europe’s leading energy companies including RWE npower and EDF. Working in a variety of different roles across sales, marketing, operations and commercial activities Mike has a deep understanding of energy companies and how they interact with customers. Since 2008 Mike’s efforts have focused on energy efficiency and carbon management services. Mike was responsible for a number of new product launches whilst at EDF and also led the team responsible for developing energy efficiency solutions for business customers. In 2013 Mike joined BP to develop low carbon customer propositions across the fuels, lubricants and petrochemicals markets BP has interests in.
Mike is based in London with responsibility for a number of regions across the world including the UK, Australia and China.
Jonathan Lee, Business Development (USA)
Jon leads business development in the Americas for BP Target Neutral while being based in Chicago. Over the course of Jon’s career, he has held a variety of successful marketing roles across the automotive, financial services, and marketing services industries. Jon’s experience in environmental conservation also stretches beyond BP Target Neutral, as a board member of a not for profit organization in the USA that focuses on responsible outdoor recreation.
Alex Mauer, Business Development (Europe)
Alexander Mauer is an experienced Business Development Manager working for 19 years in the industry. Based in Bochum, Germany he is accountable for BPTN´s activities in Europe. His innovative drive is building on a wide range of experience gained in a variety of roles in downstream businesses such as Fuels, LPG and Supply & Trading.
Daniel Davies, Marketing & Communications
In September 2016 Dan joined the BP Target Neutral team from Castrol where he was the Head of PR and Thought Leadership. At Castrol he helped to launch Castrol GTX ECO, a lower carbon engine oil which uses re-refined technology and Castrol EDGE BIO, a new engine oil with plant based technology. Dan joined Castrol in 2013 from EDF Energy where he worked on the launch of the UK’s first zero carbon electricity contract for business which has helped organisations such as Network Rail provide zero carbon train journeys for customers on its electric lines.
