Volvo Birmingham (Paul Rigby Ltd) is the first Volvo dealership in the UK to join the new Castrol Carbon Offsetting Programme supported by BP Target Neutral. Recognising the challenge of climate change, the dealership wanted to offer its customers a way to tackle the challenge of carbon emissions associated with driving a car. The Castrol Carbon Offsetting programme means that Volvo customers who choose to purchase a car from Paul Rigby will have the CO2 emissions from the first 10,000 miles of driving offset by Paul Rigby through Castrol.
In addition to this Paul Rigby will also be offsetting the carbon emissions associated with its staff, demonstration and courtesy cars in order to demonstrate how easy it is to take action on climate change. It is estimated that over 900 tonnes of CO2 will be offset by the scheme over a 12-month period, with funds going to support BP Target Neutral projects around the world which act to reduce global CO2 levels.
